Spontaneous beach trip!

Friday evening as Zach and I stood in front of our cupboard and contemplated what to make for dinner I mentioned how good Mack-n-Manco pizza sounded right then. Zach agreed and then decided – why not. I was shocked and even as I put my shoes on kept asking him, “Really!?” because I was surprised we’d drive an hour just to get dinner. We grabbed a snack and some water and ten minutes later we were on the road, just in time to avoid the darkening clouds of a fierce thunderstorm about to hit the city.

An hour half later we were seated in Mack-n-Manco’s and I had two slices of my favorite spinach pizza. We then wandered the boardwalk, deciding to make a full evening of our spontaneous trip. We were a bit too full to go on the rides, but we did wander through the amusement parks and took a short walk out on the beach. It was a bit surreal seeing the waves come crashing up out of the darkness because by then the sun had set, but the night was humid so dipping my feet in the water felt good.
