Azaleas

I took another trip to Tamanend the other day. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find my extra camera battery before I left so of course that meant the battery would die on me – and it did. I didn’t get too many photos, but I’m happy with the few I snatched of all the pretty azaleas around the history farmhouse in the park. Oh, and as typical with every other trip I’ve taken to Tamanend – it was raining.

Sometimes photos I like don’t quite make it into a post, so then I can throw them into the “randomly” bin. I was trying to do a bokeh panorama, but forgot to change my autofocus setting to manual the first time. I realized the mistake, switched the setting, and started over, but when I took the photos off the camera there was just something about Zach and the bridge and the background being all crazy bokeh that really appeals to me here.
Zach bought a case of mixed Blue Moon seasonal beer. This one was rather good, but I like the Valencia Amber better.
Orchids at Zach’s parent’s house.
Adorable border collie puppy! Someone in the neighborhood recently got this ball of floofular cuteness and I’ve seen it several times at the impromptu dog park by the river. Several Sundays ago Zach and I took a walk to the dog park and saw this pup chasing after a ball. She would then always run to the nearest humans to the ball for attention. Zach and I got a greeting as we sat on a bench and got to pet her soft puppy fuzziness. Unfortunately for the owner, there was a hole in the dirt under our bench which the pup found and immediately planted herself firmly inside because it was cool in the shade (it was one of those crazy warm upper 80s days several weeks back). Zach briefly got the puppy to go back out from under the bench by throwing a stick, but the pup stubbornly went right back to the hole under our seat so we moved to allow the owner room to get his dog back.

Last week I decided to visit Tamanend park again after being delighted with it last month and much has changed. The leaves are all green and starting to fill in on the trees.
Of course, I went on a cloudy day where a very slim chance of rain in the forecast meant I was sure to be rained on. However, the shower was short and light, so I took shelter under the fledgling leaves that could provide cover.

A couple weeks ago I wandered about Tyler park and took a trail I’d not been on in a long time. After scrambling down a steep hill to an area next to a large stream I gasped to see the wooded area next to the water completely covered in bluebells.

I couldn’t help but think of Ansel Adams when we were driving past such beautiful landscapes. Sometimes I’d change my camera setting to black and white, hoping I could do justice to the view.

After wandering the gardens surrounding the Japanese tea house and pavilions, we took a little trek into the wooded area with paved and unpaved trails leading us to a surprisingly beautiful area. I was astonished that such a beautiful place was so close to where I lived and made a mental note of coming back.
