My name is Jennifer and I live in a row home with my boyfriend, Zach, and a cat named Bijoux in Philadelphia, PA. I love to take photos of my favorite park (Tyler State Park in Bucks county), breakfast, and about everything else that strikes my fancy. My favorite colors are blue, green, and teal. I am a runner and trying to train myself for distance runs. I crochet lace scarves, and go for rides on a Suzuki SV 650 motorcycle with Zach. I read all of the six major Jane Austen novels at least once a year, love Doctor Who and Sherlock, and obsessively watch Miyazaki films.
Photography has been a hobby of mine since 2000 when I got my first camera, a little Fuji 1.2 megapixel point and shoot. Although I don’t shoot professionally, I feel my skills have improved a lot over the years and I’m still learning. Details intrigue me more than grand landscapes (although I do love a beautiful landscape!). My camera equipment now consists of a Canon Digital Rebel XT, an 18-55mm kit lens (Canon), a 50mm 1.4 prime lens (Canon), and a Sigma 70-300mm APG telephoto lens. Sometimes I might borrow Zach’s Canon XSi camera as well. I’m saving up for the recently announced Canon 5D Mark III.
More than anything else I love being outside and photographing nature. Being in my favorite wooded places calms and rejuvenates me. Whenever I have time I’m usually stomping through the woods at Tyler park trying not to scare off a deer in the woods, disturb the turtles sunbathing on logs in a stream, or frighten off the birds in the underbrush. Autumn is my favorite season, but seeing my favorite places change with all seasons is always enjoyable. Sometimes I can get Zach to come on my little excursions into the woods with me.
Thanks for stopping by my little site. I always appreciate comments and will usually respond.
